Cambridge Car Club (CCC) collects information from you when you enter an event, to help us organise and run the event. For example, your email address and phone number enable us to contact you with details and later the results. Your car details will enable us to put you in the correct class and to identify which car is which.

This is officially ‘data required for entering into and performance of a contract’ and is known as the legal basis.

The Secretary of the Meeting, and Entries Secretary if appropriate, will be the main user of this information. Other people involved with the event may also use the information. The MSA requires that we publish an entry list so we need your name and some other details, e.g. your car, for that.

We do not use automated decision-making or ‘profiling’ systems.

We may on occasions pass the information onto other clubs and associations in the UK for motorsport-related reasons such as when the event is a round of a championship that they are running.

We will not pass it onto foreign organisations nor to any mailing-list companies.

Once we have finished the event and any follow-on actions such as distributing the results, we will archive the data. This enables us to look at, for example, winners and entry levels from previous years.

If you have provided personal information to CCC then you have certain rights relating to that data. These are spelt out on the website of the Information Commissioner’s Office (www.ico.org.uk). If you have any queries about data protection at CCC then please get in touch with the Chairman and Club Secretary.
